Hot Wheels | McMurtry Spéirling
The McMurtry Spéirling is an electric high-performance prototype single-seat sports car manufactured by McMurtry Automotive. Designed by Andries van Overbeek, the Spéirling was designed to "challenge the industry trend of increasingly heavier vehicle" and create a lightweight electric driver's car as a result; "spéirling" is an Irish word translating to "thunderstorm". Developed in secrecy over three years, the Spéirling is powered by two electric motors producing 1,000 horsepower, assisted by a fan-powered downforce system; the car has achieved numerous acceleration and track records and was notable as being the first car to drive upside down for any period of time.
